Tommasi is a historic, family-owned Italian winery founded in 1902 in Valpolicella, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. It started with a small vineyard owned by Giacomo Tommasi, who believed wine should be more than just a daily drink—it should be something worth sharing and celebrating. Over more than a century, the winery has remained 100% family-run, now led by the fourth generation, which is quite rare at this scale.

Amarone comes from Valpolicella, just north of Verona. The “Classico” designation refers specifically to the original historic zone—hilly vineyards between Lake Garda and the city of Verona—where the terroir (soil, elevation, and climate) produces the most complex and elegant wines. The wine holds DOCG status, Italy’s highest classification, which guarantees strict production rules, quality standards, and geographic authenticity.

Made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and sometimes Oseleta grapes, it uses the appassimento method—grapes are partially dried for months to concentrate sugars, acids, and flavors. This produces a full-bodied, dry wine with rich notes of dried cherry, fig, cocoa, and spice, smooth tannins, and a long, elegant finish. Perfect with red meat, game, or aged cheeses, it combines power, complexity, and balance, with excellent aging potential.
