Cos d'Estournel 2021

Cos d'Estournel is a prestigious Second Growth estate in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, celebrated for producing powerful yet elegant red wines. The vineyards, covering around 100 hectares, are planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The soils of gravel, clay, and limestone give the wines a firm structure, minerality, and the ability to age gracefully.

The 2021 vintage of Cos d'Estournel is generally seen as a refined and balanced expression from a year that wasn’t overly ripe but produced wines with freshness and precision rather than sheer power. It reflects a cooler, more nuanced growing season where the grapes achieved good balance and vibrancy without extreme richness.
