Cos d'Estournel 2018

Cos d'Estournel is a prestigious Second Growth estate in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, celebrated for producing powerful yet elegant red wines. The vineyards, covering around 100 hectares, are planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The soils of gravel, clay, and limestone give the wines a firm structure, minerality, and the ability to age gracefully.

The 2018 vintage of Cos d’Estournel is considered a very strong year, producing wines with rich fruit, power, and structure. The season had warm, dry conditions, allowing the grapes to achieve full ripeness, resulting in concentrated flavors and plush tannins. Aromas typically include blackberry, cassis, plum, spices, and subtle floral notes, with hints of cedar, graphite, and mineral undertones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and layered, combining ripe, velvety tannins with fresh acidity, giving it both balance and long aging potential.
