Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

In 1890, the Duke of Aosta visited Pontassieve after learning of a hidden gem in the cellar of the newly established Ruffino, a rising winery known for its Chianti. Impressed, he made Ruffino the royal supplier, and this wine has been a flagship since 1927, bearing its iconic label.

Grape varieties: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Vineyard features: The soil composition comprises clay and limestone, enriched by the abundant presence of galestro, a characteristic feature of Chianti Classico.

Aging 24 months in stainless steel vats and large oak casks.

Tasting Notes: A complex bouquet combines floral (violet) and fruity (cherry, wild berries, plum) notes with spicy hints of tobacco and cloves, leading to an intense eucalyptus finish. A well-balanced palate with delicate tannins, vibrant Sangiovese acidity, and a persistent finish.
